Combined Insurance joins forces with Surrey Wildlife Trust
Kingston insurer, Combined Insurance, is supporting the Surrey Wildlife Trust as a Gold corporate partner.
The decision follows Combined Insurance’s first Environmental Challenge Day in Chobham Common (http://www.surreywildlifetrust.org/news/50). Under the supervision of a qualified Ranger, volunteers from across the Accident and Healthcare provider worked together, to clear the area for the digging of a pond. The project has a real and immediate benefit for local wildlife, such as dragonflies and water vole that thrive in heathland pools.
Corporate Partnership plays a vital role in supporting the work of Surrey Wildlife Trust. The relationship is part of Combined Insurance’s ongoing commitment to its environmental responsibilities and two more Environmental Challenge Days are already planned for the coming months.

About Surrey Wildlife Trust
1. Surrey Wildlife Trust (SWT) is a registered charity and the only organisation concerned solely with the conservation of all forms of wildlife in Surrey. We manage over 80 sites covering more than 7,600 hectares of Surrey’s countryside. In 2002 Surrey Wildlife Trust formed a unique partnership with Surrey County Council (SCC) and became responsible for managing the Council’s entire Countryside Estate, covering some 2,600ha. We currently have over 28,000 members. Further information can be found on our website www.surreywildlifetrust.org.
2. There are 47 local Wildlife Trusts across the whole of the UK, the Isle of Man and Alderney. We are working for an environment rich in wildlife for everyone. With 791,000 members, we are the largest UK voluntary organisation dedicated to conserving the full range of the UK’s habitats and species, whether they be in the countryside, in cities or at sea. We manage 2,200 nature reserves covering more than 84,000 hectares; we stand up for wildlife; we inspire people about the natural world and we foster sustainable living.
3. SWT shares the vision of a “Living Landscape” with its fellow wildlife trusts. Living Landscapes aims to combine existing, and create new, wildlife habitats. It will restore large-scale, ecologically functioning open space networks to enable plants and animals to move and adapt. Living Landscapes will connect existing to new natural areas of wildlife value by creating wildlife corridors and buffer zones. In the countryside our special wildlife sites will be linked mainly across open farmland, and in urban areas via gardens, schools and community recreation grounds.
