We all like to think that accidents won’t happen to us, but with around 1.5 million people hurt in accidents at work each year 1; approximately 3 million injured at home each year 2; and over 235,000 personal injury accidents on British roads each year – resulting in almost 4,000 deaths 3, being seriously injured in an accident is more common than most of us realise.
